INTRODUCTION OF JAMAAT-E-ISLAMI "A party amongst you must be there to promote the good and suppress the evil" Aal-e- Imran:104 Truth of the matter is that making the Islam current,( Aqamat-e-Deen) is the solitary duty, with discharge whereof, the man has been burdened, in fact, his viceregancy on earth is exclusively purported to  meet this end. Advent of the whole chain of Prophets itself was to realize this goal. And especially Muslim Ummah has been so ordained. And every era had such personages who dedicated their whole lives to this cause Syed Maududi was, one such name in20th Century. Almighty Allah had given him tremendous qualities of head and heart who used the same to free the enslaved Muslims of the subcontinent. He raised the slogan, ‘we are God’s helpers’ and then spent 24 hours, a day in the service of true faith of Islam for the rest his life. The Founding Session The founding session of Jamaat-e-Islami was scheduled for 26th August 1941 at Lahore. The participants from every nook and corner of India gathered at the residence ofMistree Abdullah at Islamia Park, Poonch Road, Lahore. The first session began at 8’pm in Mubarik Mosque, wherein, the following 75 persons participated Syed Abul Ala Maududi Syed Abul Ala Maududi was born in 1903 AD, and correspondingly in 1321 AH, at Orang Abad, Deccan, India, in a Syed Family, whose founder was Khawaja Qutbudin MaududChishti---a confirmed Saint, of his day, and spiritual teacher of Usman Harooni, Khawaja Moeenuddin Chishti Ajmeri’s Shaikh, another divine of his times. Syed Abul Ala being descent of Syed Qutbudin Maudud Ahmad Chishti, takes the suffix of Maududi. He was reared in a profoundly religious family both his mother and father were very pious and devout Muslims. Therefore they brought up Syed Abul Ala Maududi in a environment, tenaciously religious in tone and tenor. As such, he was tutored at home by his father himself instead of sending him to a formal School. Syed Maududi was taught Urdu, Persion, Arabic, Islamic Jurisprudence, Hadith(Saying of the Prophet PUBH), by a Private tutor at home. His education at home spans over 11 years. Policy of Jamaat-e-Islami The General Policy of Jamaat-e-Islami Jamaat-e-Islami will see, every action it takes, whether it is in line with the injunctions of Islam or not and go beyond it, so far as permissible. To get its objective Jamaat will not resort to those means and methods which are in conflict with truth and honesty, or anything which may result in mischief. Jamaat will try to bring revolution and reformation through constitutional ways i.e. preaching and propagation of its views and by moulding the minds, through character building, and by making the public opinion which conforms to its principles and policy. Jamaat will not implement its manifesto through underground movements; instead, it will do everything openly.
